Today we started the year with our Saturday family day on the ski hill at Bottineau North Dakota! Our LaRiviere Ski Club trained with the Bottineau Ski Club today as my eldest daughter prepared for the upcoming races this month.
It was a long drive (2 1/2 hrs) but as my youngest daughter exclaimed, “Bottineau has the best ski hill ever!!” Lol
Next week we head out to Spring Hills for races, then down to Bottineau again for races, then hopefully down to Wallaha North Dakota to spend the remainder of the Club year at Frost Fire Ski Resort. Much closer and the hill sounds extremely accommodating 👍
Having fun again on the slopes ⛷

Pickerel caught on Lake Churchill, along with a tote full of Jack! -38 degrees Celsius, always cold in Buffalo Narrows lol Skidoo rides all across the lake followed by long warm ups beside the fire at Gillian and Kevin’s beautiful lake side cabin. What a treat Gillian and Kevin Hanson 👍

21 years ago I built up the nerve to buy the prettiest girl in my class a box of Toffifee chocolates. Little did I know that would result into 18 years of marriage (today’s our anniversary), 5 healthy and busy children and a beautiful happy farm life.
Those chocolates were a solid investment Sandy Steppler

Today I spent some time with my bees in the shed. It was nice to see my babies, but I did find some condensation. Entrances off! The bees have been inside for a month and a half now, and not much for drop on the floor. Typically I’m sweeping a large summer bee die off this time of year, guess they never made it inside this year.
